To protect aquatic resources and ensure their sustainability over time, the National Fisheries Service is supported by a network of pro bono inspectors, who, in addition to the official Fisheries Inspectors, contribute in the task of ensuring the compliance of the Recreational Fisheries Law.

With this in mind, the National Fisheries Service has developed a training program for candidates to the posts of recreational fisheries inspectors in order to train them in the subject of standing regulations, management measures, enforcement procedures and reports.

For this purpose, a Manual for the Recreational Fishing Inspector has been developed, containing the general aspects of the existing regulations and the tools required to perform the efficient and effective control, surveillance and conservation of aquatic resources targeted by recreational fishing.

Every pro bono inspector must have and carry the appropriate credentials.
